Autumn sunsets

There is something about the sunsets in autumn.

Gorgeous colors.

Coffee needed.

When you need all the help you can get in the morning. Early studying. Genetics.

Autumn colors are finally here......

Here where I live in North Carolina, the fall foliage is finally starting to shine.

Lots of reds, gold and orange are beginning to pop up everywhere. 

Almost overnight.

September and October had very warm temperatures, delaying the colors. But boy they are here now!!

Happy National Radiologic Technology Week 2017

This week is my profession's national observance of being a radiologic technologist.

If you have an x-ray, mammogram, CT, etc this week, give the technologist a hug and thank her.


I have worked in the radiology field since  I graduated from college 1986. 

I love my career that I chose to pursue after graduating high school. I knew exactly what I wanted to do. If I had to do it all over again, I would still enter the radiology field.

Who can say that nowadays?

Ok, Ladies! 

It is time to think out of the box with your tools and punches again.

What can I use this floral punch besides a flower?

Yes, you read correctly. Candle flames!!

Supply list:

1. Floral punch ( or die cutting machine to create flowers )
2. Glitter glue ( like Stickles )
3. Scrap cardstock and/or pp. If you are like me, you have lots of scrap paper lying around.
4. Scissors
5. Toothpick
6. Paper trimmer

Line up your candle flames. It will be easier to have an assembly line when applying the glitter glue.

Cut the scrap papers into candle length sizes.

Arrange your candles on your card front or scrapbook page. Adhere the flames above the candles. Using a black pen/marker, make a wick between the flame and candle. Viola!

You have instant birthday candles for your cards/scrapbook pages.

This year, I wanted to continue with the idea of Frugal Crafting. I had a fun time looking at budget-saving tips, using everyday items found in your home for last year's camp tutorials.

Rethinking what you have in your supplies and use them in different ways.

We all have purchased a punch, or two or three....  and only can use it to make one item.

Get your thinking cap on, Ladies!

How are we going to make flowers out of these punches?

SU! Owl Builder Punch

SU! Bird Builder Punch ( retired )

Supplies needed:

1. Cardstock or paper scraps

2. Fast drying liquid adhesive or mini glue dots

3. Scor-tape or tape runner/ATG

4. Tweezers ( to aid in assembly )

5. Scissors

Punch out numerous Bird Wings

Punch out numerous Tree Limbs

Punch out numerous Owls
( Save those mini circles and hearts that get punched out )

You will need your favorite liquid fast drying adhesive and tweezers. Liquid or mini glue dots will work best for this project. Tape runners/ATG might be hard to manuever on the small punchies.

Viola! Lots of mini flowers!!

Assemble your flowers and stems. I used scor-stape to adhere the stems on the back of the flowers.

The flowers are ready for your Easter/Mother's Day pages and cards!!
