The Next Chapter

If you have known for any length of time, you realize that I have suffered migraines for many, many years.

Last year when the new CDRP came on the market, my neurologist decided to put me on Ajovy.
I did really well on these monthly injections since December 2018. I had nine injections.

My ninth injection: I got a severe reaction to the medication. It was a delayed reaction since I had been on it for nine months before getting a reaction.

I saw my neurologist last week.

We discussed my reaction and the potential for more reactions if we proceeded on Ajovy.

Sooooooo.

We decided to try Emgality.

Well, that was an interesting day yesterday for my husband and I.

Trying a new medication and a newer way to administer the medication.

Talk about painful.

I rather have my DHE injection over Emgality.

Let's see how October's injection goes.

To be continued......

Road Trip

I am so ready for a break from work.

Where we are going....... no wifi or internet service.

6 hours drive, but will be so worth it.

Bucket List Item

We saw the ISS pass over our house last night.

I recorded a video.

It moved fairly fast across the night sky.

So cool!

Ready For My Vacay

I am sooooo read for my vacation.

I have a countdown calendar set up on my phone, too.

Happy Monday!!

Have a wonderful week!!!!

Key West Bound

Joe should be finishing his post duties in Key Post in the next few weeks.

He is bound to Miami, Savannah, Charleston, Norfolk and then to his home port of Cape May. He should be there by mid-October.

Take me back.....

I can't wait until we go on vacation in a couple of weeks. We are staying at the same Mountain Inn as we did in May 2018. Hopefully, we will have another fabulous view.

Yes. This is in the my home state of North Carolina.

The countdown begins......

Bacon..... did someone say "Bacon?

Bacon.

I am sucker for bacon.

At least with the low carb/keto diet, bacon is one food that is included. This is no sugar cured bacon. It is a little harder to find, but I don't miss the sugar flavored bacon.

No self control?

You know you are guilty, too.

Who can't pass up some sequins, sparkles, more adhesive and cardstock?

So Glad It's Saturday.....

It has been a very long and stressful week. When I mean stressful, I mean extremely stressful.

Being a radiology manager really puts your multi-tasking skills to the test.

Low Carb Pizza

We tried a new pizza crust recipe today. This one did a little better than our last one.

Rise and Shine

I am hooked.

Becky Higgins' simple notebooks.

The newest release.

I bought three.

9/11

I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news.

I won't ever forget.

Guilty!!

I couldn't resist not sharing this one.

I think that all paper crafters are guilty of this one.

Queen kind of day.....

Give me some Queen any day.

Semper Paratus

I am so proud of our son. Being in the USCG is a tough job.

The USCG are the heroes for Hurricane Dorian.

Semper Paratus.

Always ready.

The ducks......

Update on the ducks: They stayed all day in our yard yesterday through sunset. We must have good tasting acorns and grass.

It was refreshing to see these wild ducks took a break in our yard.

Quacking throughout the yard.

Key West, here I come........

This is what our son gets to enjoy while in Key West for the next few weeks while his cutter is stationed there.

Unbelievable sunsets.

He is on the USCGC Angela McShan.

Hurricane Dorian.....

Yep. Hurricane Dorian came our way this week.

Category 2 when it hit us.

We were on the outskirts of the outer bands, but we had heavy rains, flooding and strong winds on Thursday, that night and into Friday morning.

Make way for ducklings.......

No ducklings, but ducks!

This morning we had wild ducks in our yard. Never in the 26+years we have lived in the country that we have had ducks.

We fed them old crackers we had in the cabinet. They gobbled them up. They looked like they were hungry. They also ate acorns that were in the yard, too.

They returned at lunchtime. We fed them some more.

The struggle is real.......

This is me trying to get in the groove of college studying and homework this week.

Work has been keeping me busy and I don't feel like "reading".

The short stories we have been assigned for the class are not my style of reading choice. I hope the stories get more interesting.

Painted rocks

I have the most awesomest employees.

One of them went on a long road trip to visit the national parks. She brought me a kindness rock she found in Yellowstone, I believe.

This rock is a work of art, indeed.

It proudly sits in my office.

Changing your diet

We have started to eat more healthy, watching our sugar intake and carb's. This was last night's dinner. Stir fry beef with no rice.

I didn't really miss not having the rice.

Reducing carb's in my diet had been a struggle at first. I don't really miss the sweets too much or the pasta/rice. Retraining your brain is the hardest.

My hubby has been making some wonderful recipes.

Even found a great recipe for keto bread and pizza crust. Wahoo! We can still have pizza!!!!
