It is a wonderful mini gift that you can use for a get well gift, Valentine's Day gift, for gift cards, Mother's Day gift ( fill it with paper flowers as a bouquet base ), holds a candle votive, Halloween, etc.
I got this idea from Linda Parker. She has a wonderful YouTube channel where she has posted many many tutorials. She gets all of the credit for this tutorial.
Here is the link to her tutorial using an envelope punch to make a teacup.
Note: I had to refer to the tutorial several times while I made the coffee mug. Please refer to the video.
Supplies needed:
- Cardstock ( if you use patterned paper, make sure it is a heavy weight )
- Paper Trimmer
- Bone Folder
- Ruler ( or Scor-Pal board )
- Burnisher Tool ( and/or Scor-Pal to score the cardstock )
- Pencil
- Circle Punchers ( 1 1/4 inches, 1 1/2 inches, and 2 inches ) *
- Envelope Punch Board
- Adhesive ( tape runner/ATG, and liquid glue )
* I used my Spellbinders Circle Dies
Cut your cardstock/pp to 8 inches x 5 1/2 inches in size.
Mark your cardstock/pp at:
Long-wise ( 8 inches length wise )
1 1/4 inches, 2 1/2 inches, 3 3/4 inches, 5 inches, 6 1/4 inches and 7 1/2 inches
Short-wise ( 5 1/2 inches cross wise )
1 1/8 inches and 3 5/8 inches
Score all of the increments into the cardstock/pp.
Using the bone folder, burnish the the score lines.
Fold over the shorter side of the cardstock and punch out the corners using the envelope punch board.
Trim of the two of sections. Also, trim a wedge off. This trimmed edge cardstock will be folded and adhered down,

| Apply adhesive on the top and just under the bottom scored lines. See photo. NOTE: on the left hand side, DO NOT APPLY adhesive 1/2 inch from the edge on both places. You will need this open so you can slide the opposite side into to make the "mug" shape, |
Make the coffee mug.

| Use the 1 1/2 inch circle punch to cover the bottom. |
Score THAT punchie off center at the top and bottom. Score again ( maybe a 1/4 inch increment ). Fold at these scored marks. This is the coffee mug handle.
Adhere ( use liquid glue) to the mug. Pinch the circle punchie and adhere ( liquid glue ). This will finish the handle.
